Valerie Arvidson is a writer of fiction, creative non-fiction, and blurred genres. She is also a print-maker, visual-artist and a teacher. She holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College in Creative Writing and she is currently working on her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Washington in Seattle. She has published work in Hunger Mountain, (she won First Place Prize in the 2009 Hunger Mountain Creative Nonfiction Contest). And her short-short story, “Catacatascia,” featuring her prints and a recording, won fourth runner-up in the IT.A.CA Contest curated by PenTales and Yoda in May 2011.
