May 1, 2010
Happy May Day,
In this, our twenty-fourth issue, we're featuring prose from James H. Duncan, Rich Ives, Paul Myette, Ross Rader, and Anna Sykora, as well as the verse of Gillian Devereux, Nate Pritts, and Felino A. Soriano. It's a well-rounded collection of work from a group of immensely talented writers.
It has been our pleasure to bring you inventive, thought-provoking literature for over four years. With that said, this will be our final issue online. Please help us by spreading the word that apt will be moving to a print-on-demand/PDF format in late January of 2011. Our online presence will continue, though in a supplemental fashion. We will feature audio recordings of authors reading their work; we will have videos of entire works being performed or excerpts from longer pieces to be found in the current issue.
This will affect the release time for our issues as we'll be transitioning from a bimonthly to an annual schedule. However, for those of you in the Boston area (and others willing to travel), you can find us every few months at the Middlesex Lounge for our new reading series, Literary Firsts. The next reading will be on Monday, July 19.
We'll be updating the submission guidelines to reflect our new reading period as soon as it's definitively established. Until then, keep sending us work and keep checking the main apt site, as well as Aforementioned Productions. for any updates regarding our twenty-fifth issue, forthcoming in 2011.
Thank you for joining us, for sharing your work and your time, and for your continued support.
Best,
Carissa Halston
